Message from the Trainers and Committee of Central Essex Dog Training Society.
Following our last communication stating our intentions to re-open the club this year, concentrating on our Intro class/starters and ringcraft, we regrettably would like to inform our members that a decision has now been made to delay this until 2021. For members in our Intro class whom have already paid for their course, we will be contacting you separately regarding this.
Hopes were to re-open at the end of October and plans were well on the way to being finalised for this to happen. However, the course of the COVID 19 virus has somewhat thwarted those plans. After consultation with all our trainers and support staff a decision was made to postpone the re-opening until the New Year at the earliest. This decision was not taken lightly and the trainers and support staff are very disappointed that we have had to take this course of action. We have always maintained the primary concern remains the wellbeing and welfare of all people involved and it’s with that in mind that this decision has been based.
It is still our full intention to re-open and the plans/work we have already undertaken so far, will not be wasted. We will keep you all up to date as to timescales as and when they become apparent. We will monitor national and local situations regarding the virus and will follow the guidance provided on both levels as appropriate.
Our AGM(Annual General Meeting) normally takes place in January but with the numbers restrictions this is unlikely to take place until a later date in 2021. For all members who are intending to return in 2021, an extension has been agreed to your current membership subscription for a further 6 months.
In the meantime, training tips/exercises and tasks will continue to be posted on our facebook site, please go to www.facebook.com/centralessex1234 to view these and take part.
We hope that you and your families remain safe and well.
From all of CEDTS committee and support staff.
